Do you charge a fee for the services you provide?

No, there are no fees. We are solely compensated by the insurance companies we represent. Your rate will be the same whether you enroll directly with the insurance company or you work with one of our licensed insurance agents.

What types of health insurance plans do you offer?

We offer Health Insurance plans on the Health Insurance Marketplace for Individuals and families from all the major insurance companies in North Carolina.

When can I enroll in private health plan coverage through the Marketplace?

For 2016 coverage, the Open Enrollment period begins November 1st, 2015 and extends through January 31st, 2015. Once the Open Enrollment period is over, individuals and families will not be able to enroll in Marketplace health plans until the next Open Enrollment period. The only exception is should you have a qualifying event (loss of health insurance coverage –usually at work, marriage, birth, or move to new area).

What is the health insurance marketplace?

The Health Insurance Marketplace is a website managed by the federal government. Now that the Affordable Care Act (sometimes referred to as “Obamacare”) is in place, it is much easier to find a health insurance plan based on your income and personal health needs.

Am I eligible for a subsidy to help with the costs of my health insurance?

Depending on your Income and household size may be able to get help paying for individual health insurance. This help is called a subsidy. A subsidy is financial assistance that helps you pay for something. It’s not a loan; you don’t pay it back.

Do I have to pay a penalty if I don’t have health coverage?

If you don’t have coverage for all or part of the year, you may have to pay a fee. For 2016 the fee is $695 per person ($347.50 per child) or 2.5% of your household income, whichever is higher.
